●About Professor Ming Singer

(a)Academic Work

Ming Singer has been a full-time university academic for over 35 years. Her academic qualifications include: B.Sc. (Hons.) (NTU, Taiwan), Ph.D. (UNE, Australia), and Post-Doctorate (VUW, NZ). Her teaching and research interests are in two distinctive areas:

Experimental Neuro-Cognitive Psychology.

Courses taught include: Cognitive psychology, Attention & Information processing, Measurement & statistics, Memory and Language, Hemispheric specialization.

Applied Work-Organizational Psychology .

Courses taught include: Industrial and organizational psychology, Personnel psychology, Psychometrics, Career development,Organizational change, Ethics and Justice in organizations.

She also served extensively on various university committees, as well as on the editorial and review boards of several academic journals. She is the recipient of various academic honors and awards.

(b) Advising and consulting Work

In parallel with her academic career, Professor Singer has provided extensive voluntary services in two main areas:

Individual advising/counseling.

dealing with issues including: personal relationships, family & marriage, work stress, diet & health, mid-life crises, caring for elderly, acculturation, generation gap, career decisions, CV & job interview, and self-development.

Business consulting/coaching .

Advising business & managerial professionals with issues including: organization communication & diagnosis, Personnel recruiting,appraisal interview, multi-cultural and ethnic work relations, leadership, motivation team building, stress & time management, conflict resolution, as well as undertaking translation works .

Professor Singer has continued and further expanded on these services after taking early retirement and immigrating with family to the USA in 2008. (See complete listing in Teaching & Work Experience).
